  • Don’t carry your Social Security card in your wallet. Give it out only if necessary.
  • Don’t give out personal information over the phone, through the mail, or on the internet unless you know you are speaking to a trusted source.
  • Keep your personal information in a secure place.
  • Don’t fall prey to scams! People who talk about scams and have a general awareness of them, are less likely to fall prey to them.

  • Click with caution. Never click on links sent in unsolicited emails. Never open or download links from unverified sources.
